  2.            THE FOLLOWING KEYS HAVE SPECIAL FUNCTIONS WHILE LOGGING:
  3.            --------------------------------------------------------

  5.  <Alt-K>  Runs a CW KEYER.  As soon as the keyer screen is shown,
  6.           you send CW via a COM or LPT port to your rig just by
  7.           typing.  A CW KEYER HELP screen appears which shows how
  8.           function keys are used to send or store CW memories.
  9.  
  10.  <Alt> +  Holding <Alt+F1> while on the logging screen sends CW from
  11.    <F?>   MEMORY #1.  This works for <F1> through <F6> for all 6 CW
  12.           memories.  (You can also use the numeric keypad keys 1-6 for
  13.           sending CW memories, if you select this option with SETUP).

  15.  <Alt-T>  Starts a 10-MINUTE ID TIMER.  This timer can be used to
  16.           remind you to identify your station.  Press the <Alt> key
  17.           along with the <T> key to start, stop, or reset the timer.

  19.  <Alt-L>  Can be used to print an address label from either a callsign
  20.           database, or from information you type into the label window.
  21.

  23.  <Alt-W>  displays Worked All States information for the callsign currently
  24.           entered.  A window showing QSL STATUS for each band and mode for
  25.           this STATE will appear at the bottom of the screen, and you can
  26.           update your WAS records.  If nothing is in the log STATE field, a
  27.           full-screen WAS menu will appear.  [REGISTERED USER VERSION ONLY].

  29.  <Alt-X>  displays DX Century Club information for the callsign currently
  30.           entered.  A window showing QSL STATUS for each band and mode for
  31.           this COUNTRY will appear at the bottom of the screen, and you can
  32.           then update your DXCC records.  If nothing is in the log COUNTRY
  33.           field, a DXCC menu will appear.  [REGISTERED USER VERSION ONLY].

  35.  <Alt-G>  switches between the current RIG and a SECOND RIG interfaced to
  36.           your computer serial port(s), as configured by the SETUP menu.
  37.           If you have "NONE" selected as your SECOND RIG on the PREFERENCES
  38.           section of SETUP, then when you hit <Alt-G> you will be in manual
  39.           control of frequency and mode from the logging screen.

  42.  <Alt-E>  displays a popup menu for EXTERNAL CONTROL.  There are three
  43.           ways to control the data lines on the computer's parallel (LPT)
  44.           port.  <F1> is MANUAL - where 1-8 correspond to the eight data
  45.           lines.  <F2> is AUTO - where the lines are selected according to
  46.           the frequency ranges specified in file LOG-EQF.FRQ.  <F3> is for 
  47.           an external ANTENNA SWITCH, following the "CT" program standard.

  49.   <Ctrl>  activates the SCRATCHPAD screen.  SCRATCHPAD can be used during a
  50.           QSO to take notes that you don't need to save.  The SCRATCHPAD
  51.           also provides a place to lookup calls in your callsign database.
  52.           Each line in the SCRATCHPAD will be used to display information
  53.           retrieved from the callsign database, providing a convenient way
  54.           to keep names & QTH's straight during a roundtable discussion.
  55.           If you have a TNC interfaced to the program, the bottom part of
  56.           the screen will monitor the TNC activity.
  57.  
  58.  <Scroll  Inhibits checking of duplicate or worked-before callsigns, so
  59.   -Lock>  prior QSOs are not reported when the callsign is entered.
  60.  
  61.    <F7>   Runs another program while keeping Log-EQF resident in memory.
  62.           You can specify two programs on the SETUP menu that will appear
  63.           on a popup window and can be run anytime you hit <F7>.  You may
  64.           also run a program that you type in manually, or access the DXCC
  65.           or WAS utility programs, or go to DOS.
  66.   
  67.  <F11>    keys may be used to run other programs from within Log-EQF.
  68.    <F12>  Files SHELL11.BAT and SHELL12.BAT must be setup to run the
  69.           programs desired.  Consult your DOS manual if you require
  70.           assistance with setting up BATCH files.

  72.     <~>   (tilde) is used to store text in a buffer to be "pasted" into a
  73.           logbook field...
  74.  
  75.     <'>   (single left quote) is used to PASTE the text buffer into a logbook
  76.           field.
  77.    
  78.    <Esc>  is used to leave the logging screen and return to the
  79.           MAIN MENU.  Note that <Esc> is used to leave any Log-EQF
  80.           screen, and return to the MAIN MENU.
